Use the following guide to learn how to set up a payment method and a W-9 or W-8BEN. As an influencer, keep in mind that linking a PayPal and submitting a W-9, or W-8BEN for Non-U.S. individuals, are required for payments to be processed.
Both the payment information and W-9, or W-8BEN for non-US citizens, must be submitted for the influencer to receive payments. If the payment setup is not completed within 30 days of the date payment is sent by the brand, it will be refunded back into the brand's account.
Step 1 Within the Live URL, click the Settings tab.
Step 2 Verify your account by clicking Verify Now to send a login link to the email on file.
Once verified, you will not have to verify again to access the Settings page unless you use another browser or have cleared your cookies. If you have any trouble verifying your account please refer to How to Verify my Account.
Step 3 Once verified, scroll down to the Payout Info section and click Add Payout Method.
Step 4 Add the General Information (Name, date of birth, and address) and click Next.
Step 5 Next, enter and confirm your Paypal email and click Next.
Currently, payment can only be received through Paypal. A Paypal account will need to be created, if not already done so, in order to complete the next steps. The PayPal email address that you enter does not need to be the same email address that you were contacted by.
Step 7 Once the Payment information is completed you are now able to submit a tax form by clicking Submit Tax Form.
Only influencers who are paid a sum of $600 or more, through GRIN, will be mailed or emailed a 1099 form. The 1099 forms are sent to the address used to file the W-9 or W-8BEN.
If you were paid over $600 and did not receive a 1099 or need to be re-issued one, contact the GRIN support team or billing department and we can issue you another copy.
Step 8 Select either 'I am a U.S. Person' or 'I am not a U.S. Person' (will be directed to W-8BEN form) and click Continue.
Step 9 Fill out Personal Information and scroll down to the next section.
Step 10 Under 'Part I - Taxpayer Identification Number' enter your Federal Tax Classification and Taxpayer ID Number. Under Exceptions (optional) enter Exempt codes if applicable. Click Continue.
A Taxpayer ID Number will need to be entered in order to continue.
Step 11 Confirm the information, certify under the penalties of perjury by checking the required boxes, sign name, and click Complete W-9.
Step 12 Lastly, click Submit Form on the final pop-up that appears.
